Harry Potter TV Series Will Get All-New Cast and Be Executive Produced by J.K. Rowling
It’s happening — Max has officially confirmed the Harry Potter TV series reboot. It’s been 12 years since the final movie in the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, hit theaters, but Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the Hogwarts gang will be making their way back to your screen extremely soon.
The greenlight of the “Max Original” reboot series was announced on April 12, 2023 at a press event for Warner Bros. Discovery press, the parent company of Max. As previously reported, the streaming TV series will be based on the original books and not a new concept, with each season of the show detailing one book in the novel series. Warner Bros. Discovery shared in their press statement that the series will have a “decade-long” run, confirmed there will be an all-new cast, and ensured that the series “will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved original Harry Potter books.”
